Disability Confident third anniversary – get involved and share your story
In November we mark the third anniversary of Disability Confident and we need your help to spread the word.
We’d love all Disability Confident employers to get involved, so here are some ways you can take part:
Use your digital channels and publications to promote Disability Confident, and join the conversation on social media, using the hashtag #IAmConfident
Use the online campaign pack where you can download social adverts, gifs and images to make it easy.
Showcase your own membership – tell partners, customers, stakeholders and colleagues about the commitment you’ve made, and how it’s benefiting your people and your business.
If you would like to discuss other ways you can get involved or want to tell your story, drop us a line at [email protected].
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…
There’s a range of disability and inclusion events coming up in November and December. You can support these too:
Purple Tuesday is 12 November, and is a day when businesses are asked to commit to improving their offer to disabled people. Register at https://purpletuesday.org.uk/ to find out more and you can download free resources on topics like website accessibility and customer service training.
#PurpleLightUp is a global movement designed to draw attention to the economic empowerment of disabled people on the annual International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December). Find out more and get involved by visiting the #PurpleLightUp webpage.
Remember, remember, last November…?
Last year’s Disability Confident anniversary was a huge success:
It is estimated that the campaign reached over 16m social media accounts.
The hashtags #IAmConfident and #DisabilityConfident were both used more than 6,000 times during the month.
1,500 organisations joined the scheme during the anniversary.
Thank you to the hundreds of companies that amplified the message on social media, held events and shared case studies… now for this year…
It all ‘ads’ up…
Look out for (and please share) the Disability Confident ads we’re running in the press and online from November.
