NuLife Furniture is the winner for Inclusive Business of the Year at the Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2025! The organisation first won the award in 2023 when the category was just introduced.
At the heart of NuLife’s work is the belief that everyone deserves purpose, connection, and a chance to grow. NuLife creates an inclusive environment where volunteers feel valued, offering roles such as customer service assistants, social media support, drivers’ mates, and mentors.
Over the past year, 32 volunteers have contributed their time, supporting hundreds of customers and forming a vital part of the community. NuLife stands out through its unwavering commitment to mental health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. Many of its volunteers face significant barriers—such as past experiences of bullying, discrimination, disability, or racial inequality. Others are navigating life transitions, homelessness, or have arrived from war-torn regions.
Further notable achievements from NuLife Furniture include:
- Recruiting and supporting 32 volunteers, including Cardiff and Vale College students, individuals using ‘Giving Back’ days, and ACT Training staff – contributing together, 3,500+ hours
- Through partnerships with the Local Authority, Oasis, Linc, social services, Salvation Army, Pobl, CCHA, Taff Housing and others, 381 vouchers have been issued to support 25 families with essential items
- Strong cross-sector partnerships have been built with React, Reach, Get Into Work Cardiff and the Youth Justice Service to name a few
NuLife’s supportive and non-judgmental space helps individuals build confidence, skills, and a renewed sense of belonging. “Since starting volunteering my confidence has grown and I’m more self-assured”, one volunteer shared. Another reflects, “NuLife gives me a sense of accomplishment… my heart sweeps with pride that I’m part of such an amazing group and cause.”
NuLife’s core values—Honesty, Innovation, Enabling, and Kindness—guide every aspect of their work, through sustainable, person-centred opportunities, the organisation nurtures future leaders, promotes inclusion, and creates long-term community impact. Its legacy is not only in the people it supports today, but in the lasting change it inspires for future generations.
During an appraisal, 100% of NuLife’s volunteers confirmed that their wellbeing had improved, and that they felt more confident and valued while gaining new skills and growing personally. NuLife doesn’t just support people—it empowers them. NuLife told C3SC, “Volunteers are central to creating stigma-free, healing spaces that foster resilience and real change.”
Congratulations to NuLife Furniture once again on their continued success and the team at C3SC look forward to hearing more in the near future.
