COVID-19 Volunteering Opportunities 01.04.2020

I apologise in advance for the inevitable delays you would have experienced in our response during this COVID-19 pandemic. The following opportunities are now available:

1. LEONARD CHESHIRE

Some of the ways that you could help include: Volunteering from home, Cooking and preparing meals, Spending extra time sitting with individual residents , Laundry and making beds, Cleaning, Office administration including answering the phone, Laying and clearing tables and serving food, Supervised assistance of care staff, Shopping. 2. MID & WEST WALES FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE

The Service is looking for micro volunteers all over Wales to volunteer from their home, using Social Media to help share safety messages on all of social media platforms. Please register via this link https://volunteering-wales.net/vk/volunteers/my_opportunities_info_ur.htm?PID=10156197  

3. GRANGETOWN COMMUNITY ACTION

If you live in Grangetown, we are looking for local volunteers who would be happy to run errands for people in isolation. This could involve picking up shopping or some prescriptions. You can email [email protected] with your contact details – which area of Grangetown you live in, whether or not you drive and if you have DBS check or not. If you are also interested in helping litter pick in your street, you can also get in touch. Email [email protected] See also Grangetown Cardiff for more details.

4. COVID19 NHS VOLUNTEERS DRIVERS NEEDED

If you live in and around Cardiff & the Vale, have a valid DBS, full driver’s license and an insured car, we need your help to deliver essentials and medicine to community pharmacies, the elderly and venerable residents in Cardiff & the Vale please. If you have a current and valid DBS, this will help process your application faster if you upload it onto your profile (click on ‘Downloadable Docs’ to upload your DBS). When you contact/email/register please provide your name, address, age, phone number, whether you have a car and valid insurance as well as whether you’ve a valid DBS, and someone will be in touch as soon as practicable. Please be aware that many organisation staff are working from home and phone lines may be extremely busy due to high demand. It is best to email in the first instance and please give 24-48 hrs to receive a response.
