Annwyl Bawb,

Mae pob achos o hunanladdiad yn drasiedi sy’n effeithio ar unigolion, teuluoedd a’r gymuned ehangach, ac mae’n cael effeithiau hirdymor ar y bobl sy’n cael eu gadael ar ôl. Rydym felly yn y broses o adnewyddu Strategaeth Atal Hunanladdiad a Hunan-niweidio ar gyfer Caerdydd a Bro Morgannwg (2025-2030) i sicrhau ein bod yn parhau i wneud cynnydd gyda’r mater iechyd cyhoeddus sylweddol hwn.

Gwnaethom gynnal gweithdai ymgysylltu a chasglu adborth gan weithwyr proffesiynol, partneriaid a’r rhai â phrofiad bywyd ym mis Hydref 2024. Gan ddilyn ymlaen o’r digwyddiadau hyn a’r ymatebion ar-lein a dderbyniwyd, rydym wedi coladu’r wybodaeth a datblygu’r strategaeth ddrafft atodedig, ynghyd â chynllun gweithredu blwyddyn gyntaf 2025/26. Rydym hefyd wedi ystyried y canlyniadau ymgynghori a dderbyniwyd gan Lywodraeth Cymru fel rhan o Strategaeth ddrafft Atal Hunanladdiad a Hunan-niweidio genedlaethol Cymru ac wedi cynnwys yr adborth hwn wrth ddatblygu ein strategaeth leol.

Rydym nawr yn falch o allu rhannu strategaeth ddrafft gyda chi fel rhan o’r cam ymgynghori sy’n rhedeg o 10 Chwefror tan ganol dydd ar 27 Chwefror 2025. Hoffem i chi i gwblhau’r FFURFLEN erbyn 27 Chwefror gan ein bod yn awyddus i ddeall eich barn ac i sicrhau mai’r amcanion a’r gweithredu yn y strategaeth ddrafft yw’r hyn y dylem fod yn gweithio arnynt.

Sylwch: dogfen ddrafft yw hon ar hyn o bryd ac yn dilyn derbyn ymatebion i’r ymgynghoriad byddwn yn diweddaru’r ddogfen ac yn cyhoeddi’r fersiwn derfynol ar ein gwefan ym mis Ebrill 2025.

Dear All,

Every suicide is a tragedy that affects individuals, families and the wider community, and has long-lasting effects on the people left behind.  We are therefore in the process of refreshing the Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention Strategy for Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan (2025-2030) to ensure we continue to make progress with this significant public health issue.

We held engagement workshops and captured feedback from professionals, partners and those with lived experience in October 2024, following on from these events and online responses received we have collated the information and developed the attached draft strategy, along with the first-year action plan for 2025/26.  We have also considered the consultation outcomes received to Welsh Government as part of the draft national Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention Strategy for Wales and have factored this feedback into the development of our local strategy.

We are now pleased to be able to share a draft strategy with you as part of the consultation stage which runs from 10th February to midday on 27th February 2025.  We welcome you to complete the FORM by 27th February as we are keen to understand your views and to ensure the objectives and actions within the draft strategy are what we should be working on.

Please note: this is a draft document at this stage and following consultation responses being received we will update this document and release a final version in April 2025 on our website.
