Carers Week: Building Carer Friendly Communities
Carers Week is coming up on Monday 8 June until Sunday 14 June.
This year’s theme for Carers Week is Building Carer Friendly Communities and the lasting difference they can make to carers’ lives. Carer friendly communities are places, spaces, services and community groups where unpaid carers are recognised, understood, and valued. They make support part of everyday life ensuring carers get the opportunities and help they need.
To help recognise the theme, Carers Wales are hosting two online sessions:
Mindfulness with Mindfulness Wales, 1–2pm
Tuesday 9 June, 1-2pm
Take part in a friendly, guided mindfulness session. Discover how this practice can help you navigate life’s challenges, strengthen your relationships, and bring more calm into everyday life.
You’re not alone: finding support in your community
Thursday 11th June, 12.30–1.30pm
Caring for someone can be deeply rewarding – but at times, it can also feel overwhelming. If you’re an unpaid carer, it’s easy to feel like you’re facing everything on your own. This friendly online session will explore where in your community you can access guidance and support.
