The State of Older People’s Housing in Wales

28 September 2023, Hilton Hotel Cardiff
Sponsored by Wales & West Utilities

Inaccessible, cold, and damp are just some of the problems faced by older homeowners every day. The Care & Repair Conference 2023 will explore the increasing complexity of housing disrepair in Wales and what more we need to do to help our older generation live in decent homes.

Join the conversation about the wellbeing of older people in Wales, and discover how housing, health and social care connect. This event is perfect for housing professionals, health and social care workers, non-profit organisations, and local government.

The day will feature guest speakers, workshops, discussion panels and an exhibition hall. We are pleased to have the following guest speakers confirmed:

  • Julie James MS, Minister for Climate Change
  • Heléna Herklots CBE, the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales
  • Alicja Zalesinska, Tai Pawb, Chief Executive
  • Ben Saltmarsh, National Energy Action, Head of Wales
  • Nicola Brimblecombe, London School of Economics
  • Chris Jones, Care & Repair Cymru, Chief Executive,
  • Matt Dicks, Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru, Director
  • Gwynne Jones, former Managing Director at Cartrefi Conwy

The conference will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff. General admission is £150 per person, but NHS and third sector workers receive a 25% discount.
