CARDIFF COMMITMENT PARTNERS PROVIDE ‘VIRTUAL’
OPPORTUNITIES TO PUPILS IN CARDIFF
The response to COVID-19 has changed our lives and in this challenging context, the education system has
been disrupted but remains of central importance. During this time when most learners are not able to attend
settings and schools in person, Cardiff Commitment and partners are working to offer experiences of work
virtually.
Starting today, Monday 13th July, Cardiff Third Sector Council, Kier Construction and Wales
and West Housing Association will be providing virtual work experience to 3 groups of year
10 pupils in Cardiff West Community High School. The year 10 pupils were due to go on
work experience placements at the beginning of July but were cancelled due to COVID-19.
With the support of school staff, the pupils will take part in live MS Teams meetings with the
companies and undertake work related tasks/projects throughout the week.
