FUNDING BOOST FOR CARDIFF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

CARDIFF EDUCATIONAL ENDOWMENT TRUST INVITES APPLICATIONS

Cardiff Educational Endowment Trust is inviting applications for funding to support the education of young people from Cardiff and the surrounding areas.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available for projects or activities focusing on the following educational issues:

  • assisting children with special educational needs;
  • assisting with issues surrounding technology and digital deprivation;
  • assisting young people with career progression through further education or retraining;
  • supporting children and young people with core skills including English and maths;
  • promoting health and wellbeing, particularly mental and emotional wellbeing

 

Who can apply?

  • Voluntary and community organisations
    • registered charities,
    • constituted groups or clubs,
    • not for profit companies,
    • social enterprises
    • Community Interest Companies
    • Schools, colleges, PTAs and other educational institutions

Youth Cymru received a £20,000 grant from the Trust for a youth mentoring programme for young people in Cardiff. The charity will use the funding to deliver provide personalised one-to-one and group mentoring sessions to young people aged 11-17 who may be struggling to engage in education. It will focus on goal setting, offering the Youth Achievement Award qualification, and provide a structured framework for personal development, including opportunities to increase self-efficacy, problem solving, self-confidence and motivation.

Commenting on how important the funding from Cardiff Educational Endowment Trust is for Cardiff’s young people, Julia Griffiths who is the Joint CEO at Youth Cymru said:

“This grant from Cardiff Educational Endowment Trust provide essential funding to allow us to delivery our youth mentoring programme.

 

It allows us to provide crucial personalised support and resources that empower young people to overcome educational challenges and achieve their full potential.

 

With this funding, we can make a significant impact on their lives, fostering growth in self-confidence, motivation, and essential life skills.”
