Cardiff Council – Governor Recruitment

Cardiff Council is looking for an experienced school governor to join a new temporary governing body that is being formed to establish the new dual stream primary school on the Plasdŵr Development in the West of Cardiff.  The school will admit its first pupils in September 2023.  The main function of the temporary governing body is to plan for the new school and to address all issues involving staff, pupils, buildings and governance.  One of its first tasks will be to appoint the Headteacher.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced governors to join the temporary governing body and to be involved in the establishment and development of the new school.  It is an opportunity to enhance your skills and experience as a governor and may be beneficial if you are looking to expand your current governor role or explore other roles in the future.  Expressions of interest would be welcomed from Welsh speaking governors who live or work in the West of Cardiff but these are not essential requirements.

For further information or an informal discussion please contact Ruth Lock, Governor Services Manager, Tel: 029 20873760 or e-mail: Ruth.Lock@cardiff.gov.uk
