C3SC Places Admiral Insurance into Volunteering

C3SC is the umbrella charity for the voluntary sector in Cardiff, and part of our role is in supporting groups and individuals into volunteering to develop the sector’s need for good community support, and provide experiences to people from all walks of life with rewarding and heartfelt experiences. Recently, a team at Admiral Insurance approached C3SC for advice and support into volunteering suggestions for their Giving Back Day in early December, granting employees the opportunity to take a day out to volunteer with a local community group and learn more about the social and positive impacts that derives from volunteering.
C3SC was pleased to coordinate the group volunteering placement by connecting employees from Admiral Insurance with one of our valued member organisations, Safer Wales, facilitating clear communication around needs and expectations, and providing guidance before and during the placement.
Working across several Safer Wales services – including the Women’s Centre, the Young Adult Hub and the Dyn Project – the Admiral volunteers supported a wide range of tasks. These included preparing welcoming, festive spaces through decorating and setting up Christmas trees, sorting and organising clothing donations, and assembling new cupboards to improve storage and accessibility. Their efforts helped create caring, supportive environments for people accessing Safer Wales’ services and in doing so, enabled staff to focus on other vital work. The group’s engagement also extended beyond practical tasks, with some volunteers choosing to support fundraising by purchasing crocheted items made by women using the service.
Following the volunteering session, Safer Wales told us, ‘The group involvement had a very positive impact. Before the placement, C3SC provided guidance, ensuring the group understood the context of the organisation, and checked in to support a smooth and effective placement experience’.
This collaboration demonstrates how volunteering, when thoughtfully coordinated, can creatively and effectively support charity organisations across Cardiff. It is also a reflection of C3SC’s ongoing role in connecting the skills, time, and goodwill of local businesses with third sector organisations that benefit from practical, hands-on support.
