Nirushan Sudarsan

Trustee

Nirushan joined C3SC’s Board in June 2026.

I am currently a PhD student at Cardiff University. I hold an undergraduate degree in Law and Politics and a master’s in Politics and Public Policy from Cardiff University. I have worked in Victim Support, Ofgem and Tenovus Cancer Care.

Currently, I also work with young people and children in Cardiff, working with the Grange Pavilion Youth Forum CIC and Ffair Jobs CIC, both operating as social enterprises to engage, listen, platform and champion young people and fair work and to ensure young people can strategically play a more central role in what happens in the city.

I also sit on the trustee boards of Children in Wales, Grange Pavilion CIO, Cymru Global, Cynnal Cymru, Youth Cymru, TEAM Collective Cymru, Home4U Cardiff and Asylum Justice.

I have always been motivated to make change within communities, as I understand from my own lived experience the strength of unity, kindness, and the support people can offer. But to give people hope and a more secure future, you need to show that organisations are taking radical action towards a fairer and more just future. I want to make a difference, which is why I am interested in joining the Cardiff Third Sector Council as a Trustee. The challenges posed by an unpredictable, ever-changing global landscape have never been greater as we look to shape how our communities and organisations are affected here in Cardiff. The work of C3SC is critical in enabling and supporting organisations to respond, support, and act towards a fair and just future for communities, nature and people, where I want to play my part in making a change.
