

Safeguarding – DBS Disclosure & Eligibility Workshop

Come along and join this 1.5‑hour session hosted by Owain Rowlands, DBS Regional Outreach Adviser for Wales.
Owain works with organisations across Wales, regardless of size or sector, to support them in understanding the importance of safeguarding and the role of DBS checks. If your organisation requests DBS checks for people who work or volunteer with you, this workshop will be highly beneficial.
This workshop will cover:
- The different levels of DBS check available
- Eligibility criteria and when an individual is eligible for a DBS check
- What is meant by ‘regulated activity’
- An overview of the DBS Update Service and its benefits
- Safer recruitment practices, with DBS checks as a key part of the process
Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for anyone with responsibility for engaging with DBS processes and legislation within their organisation, including:
- Those who determine the level of DBS checks required
- Staff involved in recruitment
- Managers of individuals in regulated activity
- Safeguarding leads and trustees
The event will take place on Teams and the link will be sent through the day prior to the event.
