This is an introductory course for those new to individual giving and covers the importance of individual giving practices, what motivates people to give and help to develop your organisation’s strategy and case for support for fundraising from individuals.

This training course will be delivered over 2 days, participants must be available to attend both sessions. PLEASE SELECT TICKETS FOR BOTH DATES TO CONFIRM YOUR AVAILABILITY TO ATTEND.

Day 1 session: Tuesday 29th September 2026; 12:30 – 14:30pm

• Introduction and understanding the importance of individual giving.

• What is individual giving- distinguishing between different fundraising income streams.

• Differences between different types of individual giving and any relevant rules eg Gift Aid, HMRC tax relief on payroll giving, gambling law.

• Be able to develop strategies and cases for support for fundraising from individuals.

• Practical exercise – matching benefits for the organisation, benefits for the donor and accompanying legislation.

Day 2 session: Wednesday 30th September 2026; 10:00am – 12:00 noon

• What motivates people to give
• Creating your Individual Giving plan
• What are the best individual giving income streams to develop in your organisation.
• How to cascade information to your trustees.
• Signposting for wider resources and suppliers

The event will take place on Teams, and the link will be sent through the day prior to the event.
