Introduction to Volunteering
This Volunteers’ Week 2026, we are excited to help raise awareness of volunteering and its myriad benefits for both organisations and individuals.
This free training will help you improve your knowledge on welcoming volunteers to your organisation. It would be suitable for volunteer managers, coordinators, supervisors, team leaders and individuals who have responsibility for recruiting, training and managing volunteers. Volunteers are welcome to apply and will be allocated a space, on a first come first served basis.
Not sure what volunteering is, or how it could benefit your organisation? This course is a perfect introduction! By the end of the course, you will:
- Understand the nature and scope of volunteering and how it differs from paid work
- Recognise how and why organisations involve volunteers in their work
- Appreciate the resource implications of involving volunteers
Date: Thursday 4th June 2026
Time: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Venue: TBC – The training will be hybrid, taking place on Microsoft Teams and in person. Please select the appropriate ticket type for your participation. The online joining link will be sent through within 24 hours of the training taking place.
