Inaugural Neurodivergence Action Group Meeting
This initiative aligns with our commitment to developing a neurodivergent-friendly Cardiff and builds on learning from C3SC’s “Community Matters”: Supporting Neurodivergent Children and Families programme, alongside a third sector forum on the draft Neurodivergent Cardiff strategy held in September 2025.
Third sector organisations play a vital role in supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. We want to strengthen the sector’s collective voice and create a space where lived experiences and your insights can meaningfully shape service development.
Why a Neurodivergence Action Group?
The Neurodivergence Action Group will bring organisations together to shape services, strengthen advocacy, and build capacity. The group will focus on three core areas:
Shaping future development
Using findings from the “Community Matters” project and your frontline experience to identify priorities, explore solutions, and inform future projects and volunteering opportunities. The group will also help identify what support organisations need from C3SC.
Joint advocacy and influencing services
Developing shared positions and providing coordinated third sector input when statutory partners are developing services or policies, ensuring lived experience has genuine influence on strategic decisions.
Building organisational capacity and collaboration
Supporting learning, collaboration, and sustainability through access to training, peer learning, shared resources, and funding guidance.
What the Inaugural Session Will Cover
The first meeting will focus on establishing how the Action Group should operate and what it should prioritise. We want to hear your views on:
- Structure and meeting frequency that would be most useful for your organisation.
- Key priorities you have identified through frontline work.
- Support you need from C3SC, including training, funding guidance, peer learning opportunities, or other resources.
- New projects or volunteering opportunities that C3SC should consider developing.
Why Participate?
By joining the Neurodivergence Action Group, you will have:
- A platform to influence services and improve support for neurodivergent individuals and their families in Cardiff.
- Opportunities to collaborate with other organisations.
- Access to peer learning, support, and shared resources.
- A stronger collective voice to influence statutory decision-making.
We believe this group can make a real difference in ensuring neurodivergent support services in Cardiff respond to community needs and are informed by those who understand what works at the frontline.
