C3SC supports Albany Road Baptist Church in a Building Transformation Project

Earlier in the year, Albany Road Baptist Church approached C3SC to get the advice and help they needed to find funding to meet the needs of the community and were recently announced successful – securing £100,000 from the National Lottery! Find out more below:

Albany Road Baptist Church has been in existence since 1894, and has since grown into a congregation made up of all ages, races and backgrounds. Currently, there are 40 countries represented in their congregation. Aside from providing an area for worship, the church welcomes everyone from the community from serving the needs of the homeless, families, asylum seekers, those living with mental illness, additional needs, the elderly and those isolated. They also work with local schools and other third sector agencies.

With such a large community that the church serves, they developed the idea of redeveloping their buildings to provide a greater sense of community to all involved. The project would see the Church work in partnership with Cadwyn Housing Association to transform the church building into 12 affordable living apartments on the top floors as well as transforming the ground floor to include an additional cafe and commercial kitchen for the benefit of the community. However, to support such a large project, the church needed to locate more funding to cover all costs which prompted them to get in touch with C3SC.

Following some funding and advice sessions including introducing Albany Road Baptist Church to the National Lottery and guiding them through the application process, we were pleased to learn more recently that they were successful in their application! With an award of £100,000 to help transform the church building, we look forward to hearing more soon.
