Dear everyone,

As you’re aware, we’re currently working to re-open all our museums following guidance from Welsh Government.

Before we re-open to the public we would like to invite you, either as an individual or with your family and friends, to trial the new social distancing systems which have been put in place on our sites. Similarly to what we arranged for the pilot day at St Fagans National Museum of History, we will also be inviting members of the local community, our Patrons, Members, Friends and Trustees.

As you’re aware we have introduced a free pre-booking system which we will be asking visitors to complete before they visit any of our museums. These pilot visits are therefore an opportunity to trial this new system and we would really value your feedback so we can make sure the process is working as effectively as possible.

The pilot days for each museum are as follows and some museums are hosting more than one pilot day. You can book your visit by clicking on the appropriate link and as you will see, there is a different booking password for each site:

When booking, please make sure that you process the booking directly. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink and you can use the bins provided to dispose of any waste.

Please note that spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis and must be booked in advance.

If you are feeling anxious about visiting, please be assured that the health and safety of staff and visitors is paramount. To ensure this, we are limiting the number of people allowed onto site, so that social distancing rules can be adhered to. As you’re aware, we have also introduced increased hygiene regimes to ensure toilets and other facilities are cleaned more often, using personal protective equipment and installing hand sanitisation stations. Because of our need to control visitor numbers, we are also restricting the ways in which people can access our sites.

If you have any questions about the new booking process specifically, please e-mail visit@museumwales.ac.uk.

Diolch yn fawr – Thank you.
