Invitation to Focus Group on Disability Hate Crime
Wednesday 17th April 11am – 1pm
St Johns Ambulance
Minerva St, Bridgend CF31 1TA
We want to hear from disabled people from across the South Wales force area who have experienced a hate-related incident or crime and reported to South Wales Police within the last 2 years (approximately).
Topics for discussion:
– Ease and accessibility of reporting to South Wales Police
– Treatment received by officers
– Support offered/provided by officers
– Views on how South Wales Police could improve their response and support to victims of hate crime
Responses gathered from the workshop will be anonymously recorded and used to inform the Police and Crime Commissioner’s approach to ensuring South Wales Police provide an effective and efficient service to the communities of South Wales. Outcomes captured will be used to drive forward positive change.
The focus group will be co-facilitated by representatives from Disability Wales and the South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner’s office, with questions provided on the topic of engagement.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed, refreshments and a light lunch also provided. Please make us aware of any access and/or dietary requirements you have.
Please note that our room capacity is limited to 10 people attending. Register your interest now to become involved!
