Free Turn2us benefits and grants workshop

Turn2us helps people in financial need gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and other financial help – online, by phone and face to face through our partner organisations. Turn2us is part of the national charity, Elizabeth Finn Care.

Everything you need in one place
The Turn2us website – www.turn2us.org.uk – brings together an easy to use Benefits Calculator, Grants Search database giving access to over 3,000 charitable funds and up-to-date information about benefits, welfare reform changes, grants and managing money. Turn2us is also supported by a freephone helpline, for anyone who cannot access the website.

Free training in Cardiff
Turn2us is inviting staff and volunteers from voluntary and community organisations, local authorities and housing associations, who offer front line advice, support or information, and who are familiar with using the internet to attend a free workshop. It is for those who are not benefit experts but want to know where to find the latest information and updates on welfare benefits and grants.

Activities will include:

– Live interactive demonstrations of the Turn2us Benefits Calculator and Grants Search
– Introductions to the other resources including Find an Adviser, intermediaries’ forum, information on welfare reforms, grants and managing money
– Demonstration of the MyTurn2us account features which enable intermediaries to apply directly to grant-giving charities online and to save benefit calculations
– Identifying where to find the latest information on benefit changes including the roll out of the benefits cap and universal credit, localised council tax support and housing benefit
– Engaging card game to learn more about charitable grant funds Opportunities for questions, answers and sharing of ideas throughout!When and where
