Using IT to deliver more with less in public services

12th September 2013 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Effective use of Information Technology enables the public and third sectors to deliver better services with less. In a time of austerity can your organisation afford not to be making the most of its Information Technology?

Benefits of attending

The Wales Audit Office, WLGA and Good Practice Wales are holding a free, interactive seminar to bring together the most up-to-date practices from across Wales and beyond. Delegates will share and learn different approaches to Information Technology. By the end of the seminar, delegates will be able to select from and adapt approaches to suit their own IT management needs, enabling them to achieve more with less.

The seminar will consist of two showcase plenary sessions:

– Moving to external storage. Estyn HMI, Phil Sweeney
– Back from the brink: Disaster Recovery. National Library of Wales, Einion Gruffudd

And a choice of attending two of the following workshops:

– 1Doing things differently: Cloud Computing and Yammer. Renewables UK Cymru, Sara Powell-Davies and Nia Lloyd
– 2Going greener: Environmentally Friendly Computing. Trinity St. David University, Wendy Xerri
– 3Better together: Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board work in collaboration. Powys County Council, Andrew Durant

You will find a full description of the plenary sessions and workshops here.
