Youth Consultation Event
Youth Consultation – National Youth Work Strategy for Wales
You may already be aware the Welsh Government is currently reviewing the position of Youth Work in Wales and is proposing changes to the National Youth Work Strategy for Wales. Should the strategy come to fruition, it would have implications on the purpose, principles and delivery of youth work in both the statutory and voluntary sectors. The Strategy is currently out to consultation and a series of events have been happening across the country trying to capture the views of professionals and young people.
Cardiff will be hosting a young people’s consultation event on Wednesday 11th September 2013 between 6p.m. and 7:30p.m.
The consultation will be run by an organisation called YouthFriendly. Although, some of the concepts contained in the proposed changes are quite complex, YouthFriendly has created young people’s versions and will be delivering the consultation an interactive way.
Cardiff Youth Council is looking for expressions of interest from voluntary sector youth work organisations across the city willing to send 2 young people as representatives to take part in the consultation. Email Paul Lewis at PaulLewis@cardiff.gov.uk for further information.
