Diana Dziuba volunteers at the Cardiff Volunteer Centre @C3SC, supporting the team during events and with translating information for our members and from English to Ukrainian. For Diana, volunteering is an opportunity for her to thank the Welsh government, Cardiff Council and the British people for supporting Ukraine in the war as well as helping other fellow Ukrainians in the UK.
We asked Diana a few questions about her volunteering experience with C3SC, and here’s what she had to say:
What difference has your volunteering made a) to yourself b) to others ?
“Volunteering gives me a sense of my usefulness. I experience joy in helping other people. It is also an opportunity to get to know new people, features of the local community for better integration into society.”
How did the Volunteer Centre help you?
“The Volunteer Centre, in addition to giving the opportunity to volunteer and help people, involves me in some of its events, informs about its activities and invites me to festive meetings. I am very grateful to all of the staff for their help and support.”
Can you describe volunteering in one sentence?
“Volunteering is gratitude and an opportunity to benefit people.”
