12:00pm – 13:30pm (Including lunch)
Pierhead Main Hall, Cardiff Bay
Sponsored by Jayne Bryant MS
#CelebrateSamaritans
Samaritans Cymru exists to reduce the number of people who die by suicide in Wales.
Following an unprecedented period of disruption and uncertainty, we know that many people have experienced trauma and poor mental health. The pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis has widened inequalities for many people in Wales and those who were vulnerable at the beginning are now facing higher levels of distress than ever before.
The spotlight theme of our 2022 event will be the link between suicide, mental health and poverty.
With volunteers as our backbone, we work locally and nationally to reduce suicide through our emotional support service and by reaching out and supporting high-risk groups in our communities. We also work to achieve this through policy and partnership work. Our branches in Wales respond to a call for help every 3 minutes and we cannot demonstrate our impact in Wales without celebrating their time and dedication.
We are delighted to have the following guest speakers –
· Lynne Neagle MS, Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing
· Jayne Bryant MS, Chair of the Cross-Party Group on Suicide Prevention
· Ellie Harwood, Wales Development Manager for Child Poverty Action Group and Co-chair of the Wales Anti-Poverty Coalition
Please join us for our Impact Report launch 21-22 and help us celebrate and reflect on our work in Wales.
If you would like to attend, or would like to send someone else from your organisation, please respond to l.frayne@samaritans.org

#DathluSamariaid
Diben Samariaid Cymru yw lleihau nifer y bobl sy’n marw trwy hunanladdiad yng Nghymru.
Wedi cyfnod digynsail o darfu ac ansicrwydd, gwyddom fod llawer o bobl wedi dioddef trawma ac iechyd meddwl gwael. Mae’r pandemig a’r argyfwng costau byw wedi gwaethygu anghydraddoldebau i lawer o bobl yng Nghymru ac mae’r rhai oedd yn agored i niwed ar ddechrau’r cyfnod bellach yn wynebu lefelau uwch o drallod nag erioed o’r blaen.
Prif thema ein digwyddiad yn 2022 fydd y cysylltiad rhwng hunanladdiad, iechyd meddwl a thlodi.
Gan ddibynnu ar ein gwirfoddolwyr, rydym yn gweithio’n lleol ac yn genedlaethol i leihau hunanladdiad trwy ein gwasanaeth cymorth emosiynol a thrwy estyn allan a chynorthwyo grwpiau risg uchel yn ein cymunedau. Rydym hefyd yn gweithio i gyflawni hyn trwy waith polisi a gwaith partneriaeth. Mae ein canghennau yng Nghymru’n ymateb i alwad am gymorth pob 3 munud ac ni allwn ddangos ein heffaith yng Nghymru heb ddathlu eu hamser a’u hymroddiad.
Mae’n bleser gennym groesawu’r siaradwyr gwadd canlynol –
· Lynne Neagle AoS, Dirprwy Weinidog Iechyd Meddwl a Llesiant
· Jayne Bryant AoS, cadeirydd y Grŵp Trawsbleidiol ar Atal Hunanladdiad
· Ellie Harwood, Rheolwr Datblygu Cymru y Grŵp Gweithredu ar Dlodi Plant a Chadeirydd Cynghrair Gwrthdlodi Cymru.
Ymunwch â ni ar gyfer lansiad ein Hadroddiad Effaith 21-22 a helpwch ni i ddathlu a myfyrio ar ein gwaith yng Nghymru.
Os hoffech ddod i’r lansiad, neu os hoffech anfon rhywun arall o’ch sefydliad chi, anfonwch eich ymateb at l.frayne@samaritans.org
