Cardiff is working with Unicef UK as part of a 3 year partnership in the Child Friendly City programme. They are aiming to embed children’s rights across public services. To ensure that the voice of children and young people are at the heart of decision making they have established a Children & Young People’s Advisory Board.
Unicef UK are looking to expand the membership of this board and are currently recruiting new members. They are looking for a wide range of young people aged 11-18. They would particularly like to hear from young people who are:
- A young carer
- A person with a disability
- A young Gypsy/Traveller/Roma
- LGBTQ
- Unemployed
This is a great opportunity for young people to develop skills, meet friends and shape an exciting programme of work across Cardiff.
You can find further information here including a registration of interest form.
To register an interest young people have to complete the registration of interest form and send to LeePatterson@cardiff.gov.uk asap. Unicef UK are holding an informal information session where young people can come along, get more information and meet other young people who have been involved in the board so far.
