Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2020 #CVA2020
Theme: Celebrating the Contribution of Volunteers in Cardiff During COVID-19
The Cardiff Volunteer Awards is organised by Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC). This year’s ceremony will be held at 4pm on the 13 November 2020 – a date which holds a special significance as it is celebrated as World Kindness Day. Last year, close to 100 people were in attendance to celebrate the hard work of volunteers across Cardiff. In a first due to the pandemic, the awards ceremony will be held as an online event (virtually via Microsoft Teams). Nominations are welcome from individuals and groups who volunteer in Cardiff, with a closing date of 30 October 2020. For full details of the Award categories, and to nominate, please visit the website of Cardiff Third Sector Council https://restore.c3sc.org.uk/nominations-open-for-cardiff-volunteer-awards-2020/
The Cardiff Volunteer awards are being held to recognise the extraordinary efforts by the volunteers, front line workers, and members of the community that have sacrificed their time, energy and resources to support our local communities. “This has been an extremely difficult year for all of us. The volunteers across all sectors have been at the forefront, in helping manage the pandemic. We are taking this opportunity, to recognise their hard work in supporting vulnerable communities, even at the cost of their own safety. This is our way to thank them for their contributions,” said Sheila Hendrickson-Brown, CEO of Cardiff Third Sector Council.
