Cardiff Council is inviting views on a proposed Visitor Levy for overnight stays in the city. The 12-week public consultation is open until March 2026, with over 700 responses received so far.
The levy could raise around £3.5 million per year to reinvest in Cardiff’s visitor economy, including improving infrastructure, supporting events, and boosting tourism.
Proposed charges

£1.30 per person per night (most accommodation)

75p per person per night (campsites and shared rooms)
