For the third year running, we are pleased to announce Wales & West Housing as our Head Sponsor for the Cardiff Volunteer Awards 2023 which takes place this Wednesday, 15th November 2023 from 4pm – 7pm at The Dragon Suite, Angel Hotel, Castle Street, CF10 1SZ. At C3SC, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks once again for supporting this prestigious event which seeks to recognise the volunteers in Cardiff doing extraordinary work.

Wales & West Housing told us ‘our vision is to achieve strong, sustainable growth to make a difference to people’s lives, homes and communities.’
As a registered social landlord, we are committed to making a difference to the people who live in our 12,500 homes and communities across Wales.
There are many ways in which we do this. One way is providing financial assistance to projects in our communities. We have our Making a Difference fund and in the past year, have donated more than £128,000 in sponsorship and grants for projects. Many of these were run by and involved volunteers.
We also encourage and support our staff to help out where they can through our ‘Giving Something Back Days’ where staff can take leave to support our residents, the communities they live in or charities. This year, 11 staff members helped at Wales Air Ambulance where they assisted with the mammoth task of organising their Summer Raffle entries. Other colleagues chose to help volunteer gardeners in St Mellons, Cardiff to prepare their garden for the season ahead or to paint community buildings in West Wales.
One member of staff, who helped to clean up a garden for older residents at one of our schemes in Cardiff spoke of the “camaraderie”, “sense of accomplishment” and “shared desire to get the garden looking great for residents” during their volunteer day.
At Wales & West, we recognise that volunteers are the lifeblood of our communities. They work hard every day, giving their time, energy and expertise to make a difference to the lives of people around them and we want to help them wherever we can.
