Understanding Hate Crime

“Incidents targeting people because of who they are (e.g. hate crimes) are under-reported, meaning many victims are unable to access the support they need, or to secure justice”
In 2012/13, there were 1810 hate incidents and crimes reported to the police in Wales, of which 1398 were racially motivated, 219 were motivated by homophobia; 39 were religiously motivated, 19 by transphobia and 135 reports of attacks against disabled people.
