The Welsh Government Budget – financial briefing for the third sector

21st July 2015 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Delivered by Matt Jenkins, Head of Budget Effectiveness, Welsh Government
The Welsh Government will publish its Draft Budget proposals for 2016-17 in the autumn, which will be scrutinised by Committees and debated by Assembly Members, before being voted on in the National Assembly. The implications of these decisions will have far-reaching effects on third sector organisations who receive funding from any public body in Wales.

This free seminar will provide an overview of the Welsh Government budgetary cycle, demystify the budget process, and explore how and when you can get involved.

This is a free seminar for the third sector. It will cover:
• The long term budget outlook
• Key social, economic, environmental trends and their likely budget implications
• UK and Wales budget cycles, including the impact of new tax and borrowing powers
• The prospects for medium term budgeting
• How to engage with the budget process
