The Human Library
The Cardiff Story Museum is hosting a unique event called ‘The Human Library’.
Organised by Cardiff University’s Cardiff School of European Languages, Translation and Politics, this event is part of the Transeuropa Festival.
The Human Library allows members of the public to take out on loan ‘Human books’ i.e. people. This will involve people sitting down with their ‘human book’ and finding out more about them and their lives. This mobile library will be made up of human books from a diverse range of backgrounds. This event was set up in Copenhagen to challenge stereotypes and common prejudices in a positive and humorous way.
Along with Cardiff, fourteen other cities will take part in the Transeuropa festival: London, Paris, Cluj-Napoca, Leeds, Bologna, Berlin, Lublin, Warsaw, Barcelona, Prague, Bratislava, Sofia, Amsterdam, and Rome. Each country will host a different event.
