Supporting roles: Family and carer experiences in mental health

‘Big October’

A chance for you to hear about the real life experiences of families and carers of people using mental health services.
Find out what challenges carers face day to day and what carers and families need to support them in the vital role they play.
The session is open to anyone. If you are a carer, friend or family member and want to hear how others are coping, or if you are a health professional who wants to understand how we can support you in interaction with carers’ and also what help and support people need, come along and listen.

The session will include:
• Support that is available to younger people with mental health
• Information on carers assessments and what to expect
• A carers talk of living with dementia
• A carer shares their experiences of living with a serious mental illness
• Cardiff and Vale UHB Memory Team
