A general child protection training course for anyone who comes into contact with children. It covers guidance, the different types of child abuse and the responsibilities with regard to reporting concerns.

Here are the course objectives:

•             Discuss what constitutes child abuse and how to identify it

•             Identify child protection thresholds

•             Have an awareness of relevant legislation

•             Locate child protection procedures and be guided by them

•             Recognise need for co-ordinate and consistent response to child abuse concerns

•             Recognise the importance of the role you play in the protection of children

•             Know how to make a referral to Social Services
