This Cardiff Council SCWDP training course is for managers in social care homes/agencies who chair POVA strategy meetings or who are in a position where they might be expected to do so.

The aim of this course is to bring together those who chair POVA Strategy meetings to identify and build on the necessary chairing skills to produce good outcomes.

Objectives

• To identify barriers to the effective chairing of meetings
• To set out the tasks of the chair before, during and after meetings
• To explore the attributes of the effective chair
• To develop consistency in meetings
• To build skills for managing the unexpected

A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who attend the whole session. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
