Parental Alienation
FNF – BOTH PARENTS MATTER CYMRU is delighted to invite you to a seminar on parental alienation.
There are many reasons why a child becomes alienated from a parent but whatever the route, the result is, for parents, akin to a living bereavement. Research shows us that the impact of this on children and families can be devastating.
The seminar will explain the concept of the alienated child, the research evidence that supports this and will highlight best practice when protecting the rights of children. It will also stimulate discussion about the concept in the context of the Welsh Government’s Children’s Rights Measure 2011.
Karen Woodall is the Director of the Centre for Separated Families, a charity working with everyone affected by family separation. She is the author of several publications on children and families including Putting Children First published by Piatkus and Oxfam. Karen is a family therapist working in the High Courts with conflicted families where children have rejected a parent.
