Next steps for the health and social care workforce in Wales: recruitment, training and retention
This Policy Forum for Wales event is CPD certified
Guest of Honour: Cassy Taylor, Associate Director, Vocational Qualifications, Qualifications Wales
This timely seminar will be an opportunity to discuss the future for the health and social care workforce in Wales.
It is timed to follow Qualifications Wales’ review of Health, Social Care and Childcare qualifications – the draft of which proposed a new suite of qualifications for the sector – and is scheduled as the Nurse Staffing Levels Act, which sets out minimum staffing requirements, comes into force.
It also comes in light of measures outlined in the 2016 Programme for Government, including increased investment in training NHS staff and the creation of a single body to commission and provide training and education for all healthcare professionals.
Planned sessions will explore workforce planning across NHS Wales, including training and continuing professional development, funding for workforce development, and Welsh language training provision.
