Making the Link between Substance Misuse and Cultural Awareness

23rd October 2012

Are you working with black and minority ethnic communities? Would you like to improve your understanding about cultural and religious sensitivities?

This NewLink Wales course is aimed at people with little or no knowledge in different cultures. It aims to bring a broad understanding about the different cultures and the impact that substance misuse has on these communities.

By the end of the course you should be able to:

· Summarise what is meant by ‘culture’ and ‘religion’

· Identify cultural and religious sensitivities

· Examine challenges faced by different communities

· Explore the effects of attitudes and beliefs

· Investigate the support available and how to overcome the barriers communities face in accessing services

Voluntary sector price: £115
