Independence through Personalised Technology: Learning Disability Wales Conference

21st May 2013

This one-day conference will examine how the person-centred use of Assistive Technology can support independence and safety for people with a learning disability and their families and carers. It will highlight the benefits and quality of life that can be achieved through Personalised Technology, and how this approach can be cost-effective for service providers.

You will look at the different types of Assistive Technology available, and explore how these technologies can be used to support people with a learning disability in all areas of their lives – at home, work, education and leisure.

This event offers you the opportunity to find out more about the increasing range of Personalised Technology available and discuss the issues affecting access to their use in Wales. It will place the discussion in the context of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Bill and the Framework for Action on Independent Living.

The day will have a variety of interactive and informative workshops. Please find attached full flier and booking form. You can access the conference flyer here (PDF).
