Free training opportunity around award-nominated arts project
The Booktrust Stories Tour ran from November 2013 to April 2014 in prisons, libraries and community centres around the country. The specially commissioned storytelling show reached over 1500 children and their families from communities and areas with low engagement in the arts. The tour has been chosen as an example of Good Practice in Family Learning by Ofsted and has been nominated for awards by Nursery World and Children and Young People Now.
As part of the legacy to the tour, Booktrust is offering free training sessions based around the toolkit they have produced. The toolkit is for venues, local authorities, artists and anyone else interested in putting on arts events in community settings. The training sessions will cover what they learnt from the project, the key factors for creating your own events and also detailed information and tips on applying for funding.
