Refugees who have come to Wales in the process of seeking safety from persecution are a diverse group of people with a wide variety of skills and previous experience who have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. Displaced People in Action provides awareness training to recruitment and supervisory personnel to:

a)     increase employer knowledge of the diverse skill pool of refugees living in Wales;

b)    discuss challenges that refugees may face when entering Wales’ labour force and ways in which individuals and employers can work toward positive employment and business outcomes; and

c)     discuss strategies to ensure recruitment practices reach refugees in Wales.

Refugees contribute to this training by facilitating discussions and sharing personal experiences in the UK labour market.
