Disability Wales Annual Conference and AGM 2013

17th October 2013

Disability Rights and Resilience: the role of information, advice and advocacy #dwconf2013

Access to Information, Advice and Advocacy is crucial if disabled people are to achieve their right to live independently in the community. However at a time of cuts in benefits, services and jobs it has never been a more challenging environment to develop such vital provision across Wales.

Join Disability Wales and expert speakers for a lively debate and to have your say on how we can create the necessary networks of support.

Keynote speakers include:

· Jeff Cuthbert AM, Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty

· Kirsten Hearn, Disability rights activist since 1980

· Lindsey Kearton, Head of Policy and Campaigns, Citizens Advice Cymru

· Andrew Dunning, Social Policy, Swansea University

· Kate Cassidy, Director for Communities and Social Justice at Welsh Government

During the conference the Minister will launch DW’s new website funded through the Welsh Government’s Communities 2.0 digital inclusion project.

Find out more on the Disability Wales website. The closing date for bookings is 3 October 2013.
