Digital Innovation Fund for the Arts in Wales Conference

13th June 2016 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join the Arts Council of Wales for a day of stories and insights from key organisations and individuals working with young people and digital technology.

Covering a host of topics from co-design with young people, arts and technology in education, creating community and developing specific types of content, speakers on the day will include:

  • Jo Lansdowne from Play Sandbox, talking about how playfully engaging young people as part of a co-design process can develop digital experiences that are creative, social and imaginative.

  • Hear from the Raspberry Pi’s Outreach team on how their technology is enabling young coders to develop new digital work.

  • S4C’s Huw Marshall will be talking about how they are working around low-level engagement with TV content, by channelling welsh language content to young welsh speakers through digital platforms.

  • Bristol’s Rife Magazine uses a host of online platforms to broadcast voices of young cultural commentators. Editor Nikesh Shukla shares how Rife has developed its community of skilled cultural and digital journalists and critics.

  • National Theatre Wales TEAM will be talking about generating community amongst young people based on shared interests and passion, rather than audiences defined by age groups or social segmentation. This is an impressive group of people with a fascinating collection of examples of the work being done out there.
