As part of National Safeguarding Week and in line with this year’s theme of Neglect, this session focuses on the critical role of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) in promoting safer recruitment and safeguarding in its widest context.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of DBS products and how they can be utilised by organisations at all levels to support recruitment processes that help safeguard against neglect and other forms of abuse.

The learning outcomes from this session are: –
• Introduction to DBS
• Understand the benefits of DBS and you (organisation) working together
• Understand the different levels of DBS checks
• Understand when an employee is eligible for a check
• Understand what Regulated Activity is
• Understand the DBS Update Service
• Have an understanding of what safe recruitment practices can be in place that DBS checks can form a part of
