Care Council for Wales – Development of an agreed fitness to practice disciplinary, capability and professional regulatory process in social work and social care in Wales
The Care Council for Wales recently appointed Blue Turtle Consultants to carry out a piece of commissioned work, on their behalf, which entails the development of a process model for disciplinary, grievance and capability investigations. In particular this project aims to support private and third sector employers.
The deliverables for the project will include a process model, proforma documentation for use by employers for disciplinary, grievance and capability processes (in relation to conducting investigations).
In order for the work to progress we would like to gain a better understanding of the current ‘practice’ in the social care sector across Wales, and the challenges that you face in undertaking workplace investigations and fitness to practise referrals.
Blue Turtle Consultants are seeking your help in gathering information that will shape the development of this work, by asking providers to complete a questionnaire. We are also inviting providers to attend a focus group and following that when the resources have been developed, we will be running pilot training sessions on how to use the new documentation before the resources are released to the wider social care sector.
The sessions are aimed at social care providers, at owner/manager level and those within the organisation who have a responsibility for fitness to practise investigations or have responsibility for HR practise.
