Day 1: Excel – Foundation Level
The first day will cover:
– Entering data
– Using the Name box
– Sorting data
– Formatting data
– Basic formula creation
– Autosum
– Absolute cell referencing
– Inserting, moving and deleting columns and rows
– Printing and Page Setup
– Copying and pasting data
– Saving information
– Inserting, renaming, moving and copying worksheets
– Changing tab colours
– Grouping worksheets
– Using the Format Painter
– Templates
– Creating and formatting basic charts
Day 2: Social Media
Aims of the course:
– To provide learners with an understanding of terms and phrases associated with social media.
– To encourage good practice in using social media in the workplace / for publicity.

By the end of the course you should be able to:
– List 3 social networks
– Identify the audience / demographic of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
– State the ‘golden rules’ of social media for publicity and work
– Post a tweet
– Post a tweet from a separate website / device
– Develop a glossary of terms
– Create a private event on Facebook
– Keep information secure on social media websites
Delegates are asked to commit to both days. Please be aware that there will be a written assessment during the course; accreditation will lead to City & Guilds qualification – ICT Level 1.
Time for both days: 10am to 4pm
