C3SC Training: Getting Fit for Fundraising
The aim of this course is to improve the understanding of heritage organisations of the key issues to consider before beginning to fundraise.The course will cover ‘What is fundraising?’, the different sources of fundraised income, and best practice in fundraising. It will outline roles and responsibilities in relation to fundraising and enable you to assess whether your organisation is ‘fit for fundraising’. It will provide an introduction to developing a fundraising strategy and the key stages in the fundraising cycle: establishing a case for support; research and segmentation; developing and implementing the plan; and research and evaluation.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand what is meant by fundraising and the different sources of fundraised income
- Understand the legal requirements and best practice in relation to fundraising
- Be able to decide whether their organisation is fit for purpose
- Appreciate the skills and approaches required to fundraise
- Understand the fundraising planning cycle
