This Cardiff Council training course is for care support staff /managers/anyone with an interest in developing awareness of Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The course/workshop will use a combination of PowerPoint presentations, films and group exercises to explore Autism Spectrum Conditions.

The course will include:

– The development of awareness of the conditions historically
– Prevalence
– Causes
– The Triad of Impairments
– Commonly occurring conditions/Behaviours associated with Autism.
– Theoretical models that help to explain the condition
– Sensory problems
– Behavioural problems
– How to help/support people on the Autism Spectrum

Facilitator: Huw Davies (Specialist Psychology Practitioner)

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Certificates will only be issued to participants who attend the full session.
