Austerity and Older People: Building Supportive Communities

20th October 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Age Alliance Wales would like to invite you to this event.

Wales is working towards becoming a good place to grow old; we have an older people’s strategy, a commissioner for older people and new legislation for social services which all demonstrate that, at a strategic level, we are fully committed to achieving our goal.

Age Alliance Wales believes that the focus now needs to shift towards implementation. The Welsh Government needs to support the development of social networks and preventative initiatives that can underpin and stimulate community activity and enable all older people to live a full and active life.

Age Alliance Wales would like to invite you to an event to discuss the challenges facing older people experiencing cuts to their local servicesand where we will outline their manifesto for the Assembly elections (download the manifesto from at www.agealliancewales.org.uk/briefings-publications). They will also share examples of good practice and identify ways to work with older people to build vibrant community networks and services.

We are inviting older people from across Wales to attend the event and meet with AMs and researchers.

Lunch will be provided

Please could you send confirmation of whether you will be able to attend to: malcolm.andrews@agealliancewales.org.uk
