All Wales Basic Safeguarding residential training course
This introductory course is a broad and generic exploration of safeguarding guidance and practice within Wales.
This training opportunity not only focuses on the course outcomes, but offers participants additional tutor-led time to thoroughly consider the learning implications and how these can be put into practice within their own organisations.
Case studies and scenarios will be geared to provide the most applicable learning for the participants and the organisations they represent.
Learning outcomes
By attending this course you will understand:
- Your own role in relation to safeguarding adults and children and young people from harm, abuse and neglect
- How individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect
- How to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect
Accreditation will be awarded after successful completion of the course workbook. There will be time during the course to complete sections of the workbook with the guidance of experienced trainers and safeguarding specialists.
The course will also give you the opportunity for networking and sharing with peers from volunteer-involving organisations.

This course will be of particular interest to organisations who involve volunteers in their work and in particular young volunteers.
