Advocacy event

28th June 2014 @ 11:30 am - 3:30 pm

The Young Persons Expert Group (YPEG) on Advocacy is a group of young people who are or have been looked after in Wales.
The Group advises the Welsh Government on a wide range of issues relating to advocacy and how it should be run in Wales.
The YPEG really wants to hear from you! They are holding a national meeting for young people who are interested in helping to shape advocacy services in Wales.

They want to give you the opportunity to have your say on advocacy, in a number of different ways. This includes, a Tweet wall, where you can interact with the event and other young people by tweeting your views. There will also be a video diary room, where you are able to tell your story on advocacy, what works, what doesn’t and how can it be improved. There will also be an art wall, giving you the chance to express what
advocacy means to you.
There will also workshops so you can give your view on advocacy and hear what young people from across Wales say.
The workshops include: how advocacy should be accessed and promoted? Why do young people use advocacy & what is the role of an advocate? How could children and young people be involved in advocacy
development and review? How can we get the message of advocacy out to all young people?
All key information that will be discussed during the event will be developed into a report that will be given to the Welsh Government and presented at the National Advocacy Conference.
