A Sustainable Wales – Better choices for a better future Consultation Event – Sustainable Development White paper: evening overview event

5th February 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Consultation event on the White Paper proposals for the Sustainable Development Bill

The Sustainable Development Bill is intended to strengthen the existing governance framework for sustainable development across the public service in Wales to ensure better decision making. The Bill aims to embed sustainable development as the central organising principle of the Welsh Government and devolved public service organisations. This means that organisations are clear on what they are seeking to deliver and ensuring that strategic decisions are informed by consideration of the effect on social, economic and environmental and long term wellbeing. An independent Sustainable Development Body will also be created to offer support and guidance.

Launched in early December, the White Paper is now out for consultation and you are invited to attend this event.

Third sector organisations and community group members are invited to this event.

The key objective of the evening overview event is to raise awareness of the White Paper proposals and its implications for the delivery of public services in Wales. It will also prepare organisations and others who wish to organise their own events with their stakeholders.

If you would like to attend and to find out more, please email sustainable.development@wales.gsi.gov.uk
